What a good God we have! What a good God we have ! WHAT A GOOD GOD WE HAVE!!!
Once again I am broken at the depth of the love our
Jesus has for the broken, and hurting.
Oh, Jesus, sweet Jesus, there is no one like You. There is no one as sweet and
loving as You are! You
compassion is so deep; it runs deeper than the deepest sea and higher
than the highest heaven. My
heart is overwhelmed and over come by the very essence of who You
are…..my Jesus.
Today, it seemed I was all over town. It has been a very busy day. A food box delivery, help to
fill a prescription, donation pick up…………thank You Lord for all
of it l!
Then, just when I think I am done, I see some of my
Clackamas “friends”, so I stop to talk to them. There are some new faces, I
introduce myself. When I
ask them, how I might be able to help, they say “food, we need food,
we are so hungry.” “Okay”
is my response, “I’ll be right back”. I run to the Storehouse and put
together some food items that I have, and I throw in some socks (thank
you Paul :o) and grab the McDonald coupons that I have left. I immediately drive back to the
location where my “friends” are.
Much to my surprise, the group has grown from 4 to 7……Thank
You, Jesus! I begin to pray
in the spirit, I jump out of my car, when they realize it is me, they
are quick to come and greet me. As
I hand them the food, they are incredibly thankful…..then I pull out
the socks and the coupons and they are overwhelmed and beside themselves
that they have been so blessed.
I ask them, what else they might need. Mark says pants would be nice,
and then Adam chimes in with his pant size as well. Then from about 20 feet away, I
hear another yell out his pant size, then another. Finally I go over to them all
and ask their names, so that I can get my list organized. As I am writing down their names
and sizes, I hear Paul as he opens the pack of socks, “man, I
haven’t seen a new pair of these for a long time!” He is overjoyed over having a
pair of new socks. (Oh God, we take so much for granted, forgive us!)
As they begin to open up to me
about the harshness of being homeless and how no one seems to understand
or care, I feel the Holy Spirit wanting to speak to them. So I open my mouth and as He
promises, He gave me the words.
“Jesus knows, understands and cares, that is why He sent me. He sent me to make sure you had food to eat and socks for
your feet. You are not an outcast in His eyes, you are valuable to Him,
He loves you and He wants you to know it.” As I am sharing, Michael begins
to cry…….. “I am so thankful for you, you are so wonderful, you
are the sweetest lady, thank you for all that you have done.” “Jesus loves you”, I reply. Michael continues to cry,” I
am overwhelmed” he says,” I just can’t stop crying, this life is
so hard, thank you for caring.”
Then a young lady by the name of Chris says, “Ya man, you are
awesome, my parents are worthless, thank you so much,” I leave them
with this final word,” Don’t forget that Jesus loves you, His word
says that He is near to the broken hearted and the poor, it is where He
hung out when He was here on earth, that’s how much He cares about you
I agree to meet them every Tuesday morning around 11 am with
clothing and food; they can’t believe I would do that for them. Praise God for Divine
appointments, Praise God that I listened to the prompting of the Holy
Spirit and stopped!! It is
His love pouring out over these hurting broken souls.
Please, pray for: Mark, Paul, Adam, Vern, Chris,
Michael and Jules, Lynn, Leo, Alan, Running Bear, Cowboy and the others
in the Clackamas area.
Chris is a young girl as is Jules.
They look about 18-21 years of age. Paul & Adam are young men,
about 22-24. The other men are from 37-55.
Pray that the Lord will give me more opportunity to share His
goodness and saving grace.
The Lord has placed it on my heart for along time to make a
meeting place here in Clackamas. Until
now, I hadn’t figured out how or where.
But, I feel like there will be two meeting places every Tuesday
morning. So Please continue
to pray for God’s provision. I
know that as I am obedient to His call, He will provide all that I need.
Right now, TFH needs jeans and shoes. Michael needs a pair of size 12 shoes, his have holes in
them. Vern needs a size 13
wide shoe; his also have holes in them.
These are their pant sizes: Michael 32x34, Mark 38x32, Vern & Adam 34x34, Chris
31x34, Paul 36x34.
I am going to meet with them tomorrow and take what I can, but
if you can help with any of these items, bring them to church on Sunday
and I will deliver it to them on Tuesday.
