It seems the Lord is constantly opening my eyes and
my heart to be able to see and feel as He does for His children. I am forever in AWE of how great
the Love of the Father is………NOTHING can compare to
His love.
Today as I was running errands here and there and
about town. One of my
ventures took me to Oregon City. As
I was taking the correct exit to get to where I was going; in the distance I saw a man on
the corner holding up a sign. (an
all too familiar scene) The closer I got, the more my heart
broke……Oh Lord I hope I can get to him before the light
changes……now I just hope that I can do it quickly, there is a line
of impatient traffic behind me. Thank You Jesus, the light has
changed……Oh, I only have a couple of dollars to give, but You Lord
are the God of abundance. Now
help me to be able to reach out and hand it to him quickly!! As I quickly drive by him, I
have to very quickly stretch and reach out and hand him the money as I
am turning the corner! As I
am reaching out to hand this man some money, he quickly grabs it as I
drive by. As he reached out
to take the money, I felt his fingers slide across
mine……………what I felt at that moment is hard to explain. All I know, is that as soon as I
felt what I felt, I began to cry. What
I had felt was so powerful! Then
“suddenly”, I realized what had just taken place. Oh, Jesus, that was You I felt! It was Your touch I felt flowing
through my finger tips to his….it wasYour love reaching out to one of
Your hurting children. What
a magnificent God You are! What
a good Father You are, so faithful and full of a love that knows no
ends……I am amazed!!
March/2004
Today was such a busy day downtown. The need is so GREAT…..I am
exhausted! My van is almost
empty! Wow, today alone I
handed out dozens of socks, 30 hanging items (coats, sweaters, fleece
and shirts) 30 pair of jeans, 100 hygiene kits and about 12
blankets…..this isn’t including gloves, hats, bags, sweatshirts and
more! All in one morning,
in 2 ½ -3 hrs! As I went inside the Blanchet House, to visit with
people; many of them my friends. As
I was getting up and ready to go, my friend jeff came up behind me like
a whirlwind! “ Hey Teri, where are you going? You’re not leaving are you?
“ He asked me Well,
I was, why? I was hoping we
could talk, he said. “Sure,
I’ll stay a little longer, let’s talk.” So we did. Then Jeff looked at me and said,
Teri, I want what you have.” When
Jeff said that, I got so excited, we have had talks about the Lord
before, you see, I have known Jeff for at least a year; but this was a
new opportunity, a new day to share Jesus with him. As I shared, Jeff got more
excited. Okay, you will
call me tonight and we’ll pray okay?, he said. Why wait I replied, do you want
to ask Jesus into your heart? If
so, let’s do it right now, right here.
(you see we were in the dining room, and there were people
around.) Without
hesitation, Jeff said, “Okay.”
So we held hands and at that moment, Jeff asked Jesus into his
heart!!!! Hallelujah!! God is good, He is forever
faithful……we are to never give up!!
